Outreach & Events / Horseshoe Meadows astrophotography trip

Weather permitting I will travel to Horseshoe Meadows for astrophotography while it is still New Moon. If anyone wants to join please email me.
Logistics:
It is a 4:10 hour drive to Lone Pine, form there a half hour to HM.
The setup site is at the daytime use parking lot at 10,000 feet.
Possibly pre-meet at Pizza Junction in Lone Pine at 5:30 PM
Camping in the Alabama Hills afterwards.

Never mind, the weather is not what it should be. Besides, I just started converting my Z12 to a truss so I will have no visual scope for a while...

On Mar 6-10, 2016, we can theoretically see all Messiers above 6 degrees. Is there a spot nearby with an unobstructed view?
